International Youth Exchange
„Young people for the countryside”
11th-20th of April, 2018
Tiszaladány, Hungary
Summary:
In frame of the project we wish to implement a 10 day long (including the travelling days) youth exchange that is initiated by young people who actively participated in our 10 previous programmes. The programme is implemented together by organisations of 4 countries (Hungary, Czech Republic, FYROM and Bulgaria). The youth exchange programme is implemented in Tiszaladány and its topic is mainly connected to rural development. By acquisition of the methods of community development and community planning young people will learn how to form an own community and how to act for the development of their own community. Using non-formal pedagogical methods we develop the abilities of the young people, which are needed to base their welfare in the future. During the exchange the young people will discuss about what they can do in favour of the future of their own town and community in order to make it more liveable and attractive, contributing with this to the reduction of emigration. They will learn how to plan and how to have a positive effect on their coevals and the inhabitants of the towns by forming informal and formal community. They consider it necessary because their living place as disadvantaged, lagging area, is less attractive for the investors bringing economic boom, one reason of which is the low level of the knowledge and human capacity available locally. The young people emigrate from these towns and with this letting space to ageing. But young people are determined to change this and form towns that are safe, the community supports each other, helps and lets appropriate circumstances to the self-organised, as well as to community and free time activities besides the development opportunities. In the programme from each country 8 young people will participate who consider it important to live in a town that is liveable and attractive for young people.

Every country will prepare a short presentation of their culture, using all kinds of methods. It’s preferred a short and FUNNY presentation, such as showing pictures and commenting it, quiz, short video (either already existing or made by you), etc. (YES – use your creativity!). For the intercultural night, we ask you to prepare in advance a brief performance (singing, your traditional music, popular dances) to present your group (typical costumes are really welcomed!).
The main idea of this presentation is: What is important for a stranger to know about my country?
Any kind of presentation is granted, better not to do a power-point presentation to avoid yawning.
The Intercultural night is the “most wanted event” on the beginning of the youth exchange. It is a sort of traditional night opened to all participant audience made up of our group leaders, youth workers, facilitators, participants to the exchange. All National groups are asked to perform briefly (10 for your NGO and country/city not more, and 10 min for traditional dances and music) in order to introduce their self. Certainly, we need your enthusiasm and energy!!
For the Intercultural evening a Swedish buffet (cold buffet) will be organized. Here every country will bring traditional food dishes.
