„Outdoor Gives More“

International Training Course
„Outdoor Gives More“

Stanimir Tsvetanov Chukov:
“Consecutive project! Consecutive trip! Consecutive new people to meet! Consecutive emotions! “…… Usually the way how I feel before I go to any project …. and sometimes this is what remain as my impressions about the project (more neutral rather than positive or negative). Yes, but not this time! If there are organizations which I work on the principle to blindly trust them, then “Akadémia proaktivity o.z.” is one of those organizations. If I have some confusion / concerns about some aspects of the project that lies ahead and I ask, but I get the answer “Do not worry, everything will be just fine!” I don`t ask again, because I know that everything will be “just fine” and I really do not need to worry about anything. That much is my confidence in Janka Schweighoferová and Michal Duchoň which manage the organization and take care of all aspects of the projects. And as for Ilona Olehlová, who was the leading trainer during the project, there is simply no need to comment – professionals like her and working with Erasmus +,  unfortunately there are not many … Consecutive training with her and once again my motivation and inspiration are boosted to such an extent that I can not wait to get back home, sit in front of the computer and start writing down my ideas.

Place – fantastic!
Hotel – unbelievable (only internet was a little bit bad, but even better like that – more time talking and “Mafia”: D)!
Food – uniquely delicious, almost like my grandmother`s and my mother`s! :)))
The program – constantly adapting to the needs of participants thanks to Ilona, Yanka and Michal, who took care of the educational needs of all participants individually and the group as a whole!
Weather – Slovakian :)))
Participants – Incredible! I can not wait for the next time that I will see them!
Emotions – ….. no comment! :)))
So, in two words – quite useless project, an absolute waste of time, I do not want to hear about it anymore ever again! :))) “

Victor Galabov:
“I could say the project gave me  rich experience as a participant. I didn’t expect much from it, but I was deeply mistaken. It turned out to be one of the best I’ve been to. It shaped into  mind changing journey, building up my personality. I am realy grateful for meeting all of those people since they helped  me expend my universe. I am  thankful for everything we shared, because it did and will make me a better person. I feel so hyped to get back and continue to work in my local community. I am totally recharged and pumped emotionally. And lastly, but not in importance, I wanna thank the people that made this a reality. It was so amazingly planned, made with a lot of passion and love. You cannot organize such amazing experience if you don’t believe in what you are doing. We need more of these projects. We need project organisers who are fighters for a better world, this project proved to me that there is ones.”

Project Summary:

Many people think that playing is just about the game. We believe that people learn effectively when they do not even realize they learn. With proper techniques used, youth workers can educate young people by playing games and doing fun, adventure and sport activities.

Main aim of this Training Course was therefore to provide participants quality course where they experience various outdoor based methods, techniques, tools and develop their competencies to apply new competencies in their practices.

Methods used in outdoor education include skills-focused learning, team building, problem solving, trust building and cooperative games, high adventure activities such as rope course and wilderness expeditions.

This Training Course was open for all youth workers (NGO members, voluntary workers, teachers and other people actively working with young people) as well as people who are interested in this topic and plan to use skills they gain during the project in their future life and career.

Accommodation:

Our accommodation was 4,5km far from the city centre, located in the touristic centre, surrounded by other hotels and pensions. Liptovsky Mikulas is a city surrounded by mountains. It has 30.000 inhabitants, which means a middle-size city in Slovakia.

Whole project took place in Pension Maria***. We had prepared accommodation in rooms for 3 people and in large apartments for 4 and 8 people. They were equipped with toilet and shower. There was a huge garden, swimming pool, mini ZOO, conference room, lobby bar, wine bar and Wi-Fi at our disposal.

Financial support:

Project was supported by program of European Union ERASMUS+. Accommodation, meals, program and travel cost (based on distance) were covered from grant. There was no participation fee.

YouthPass:

Every participant was individually entitled to receive a Youthpass Certificate, which confirms participation and validates the non-formal learning (NFL) experience of Training course project. Validating the learning experiences of participants is important in itself and the document can be of benefit in terms of the educational or employment future of the participant. Through Youthpass the European Commission ensures the Training course activity is recognized as a non-formal learning experience.
