International Youth Exchange
“Let`s work to work”

15-23. 11. 2017
Tryavna, Bulgaria

In the picturesque Renaissance town of Tryavna, situated in central Bulgaria, 25 young people from 5 different organizations and countries will join together for a common cause – the fight against one of the most recent and painful problems in Europe in recent years – youth unemployment.
The aim of this project is to present information which the young people need to start taking actions for their future career and make informed decisions about their future development, both personal and professional. Stimulating them to define the most common problems and challenges their peers and they themselves face in job search, eventually will be a key factor in the fight against youth unemployment. All the partners are working on the field and over the years of work we realized one important thing, which is common to almost all young people – lack of specific and precise information on how to apply for a job, how to pass a job interview or what tools to use to collect the funds needed them to realize their ideas.
Due to the lack of these skills that lead to unemployment, they lose their motivation to pursue their dreams. And that most often leads to passive participation in the development of an active civil society. We believe that every young person should take in hand their own future, rather than wait for granted and complain, and we believe that it is young people with their personal example are people who can give impetus to a more active citizenship of young people interested in the events occurring around them.

The main objectives of the project are:
– To increase their knowledge in the field of applying for a job;
– To increase the number of tools they can use to: solve the problems in a creative way, they face; assess more accurately themselves and their personal and professional qualities; properly develop their entrepreneurial ideas; successfully to find the resources they need to implement their ideas;
– To increase their knowledge of the “Erasmus +” program and how they can benefit from it in their future personal and professional development;
– To stimulate their active citizenship;
– To wake up their curiosity and their desire to develop their own social entrepreneurial ideas.
Within 7 working days the participants will share their opinions and ideas on unemployment and employment and will be involved in many different activities. Among the topics are:
• How to write a good individual resume.
• Motivating elements in our cover letter.
• Clothing and behavior during an interview.
• Secrets of verbal and nonverbal communication techniques.
• Finding support from career centers.
• Volunteering – a shortcut to the labor market.
• Youthpass.
• Europass CV.
• Indiegogo.
• Canvas business model and SWOT analysis.

The project will stimulate a sense of initiative, creativity and entrepreneurship of young people through theoretical insight from experts and participants. Sessions will be conducted mainly through methods of non-formal education, active participation by the participants, teamwork. Role-playing, simulations and debates will contribute the theory to be put into practice, albeit in this case only by simulation.

Working methods:

All the training will be done through the methods of non-formal education. The activities will be for example brainstorming, plenary discussions, simulations, role plays, team building, energizers, ice breakers and many others. Non formal education we remember you that is voluntary, no hierarchical and all its methods are based on the concept of learning by doing.

Intercultural night:

What we expect from you to present in these nights are: local or national dances, local music, games, little sweets, drinks, pictures, etc. from your countries.
Every country will prepare a short presentation of their culture, using all kinds of methods. It’s preferred a short and FUNNY presentation, such as showing pictures and commenting it, quiz, short video (either already existing or made by you), etc. (YES – use your creativity!). For the intercultural night, we ask you to prepare in advance a brief performance (singing, your traditional music, popular dances) to present your group (typical costumes are really welcomed!).
The main idea of this presentation is: What is important for a stranger to know about my country?
Any kind of presentation is granted, better not to do a power-point presentation to avoid yawning.
The Intercultural night is the “most wanted event” on the beginning of the youth exchange. It is a sort of traditional night opened to all participant audience made up of our group leaders, youth workers, facilitators, participants to the exchange. All National groups are asked to perform briefly (10 for your NGO and country/city not more, and 10 min for traditional dances and music) in order to introduce their self. Certainly, we need your enthusiasm and energy!!
For the Intercultural evening a Swedish buffet (cold buffet) will be organized. Here every country will bring traditional food dishes. The food that will be brought must be eatable without any processing (boiling, frying, etc). The dishes must also be accompanied by a brief description (their origin and ingredients, the way they are eaten…)

100% of the participants‘ travel costs will be reimbursed within the valid budget sums calculated according to the official rules of Erasmus+ programme. If a sum exceeds the limit, the excess will be paid by the participants themselves. The reimbursement limit is 275€ per participant.
