Association „Unique Projects“ from Lithuania and “The Change is in You” Association from Bulgaria improved and strengthened their partnership with one more Youth Exchange Project!

„Unique Projects“ together with partners „Youth of Europe“ from Poland, „Udruga gluhih i nagluhih Nova Gradiška“ from Croatia and „Промяната е в Tеб / The Change is in You“ from Bulgaria had Youth Exchange called „Fight for your rights!“ which took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from 6th till 12th of October, 2016. 29 young people got inspired and encouraged to fight for their rights. Project‘s aim was to increase young people‘s awareness about their rights, to spread the message about integration of youngsters with fewer opportunities into society, to propagate Erasmus+ programme and it‘s goals and creating the better future for youngsters in Europe. The Project included various group activities, case analysis, creative workshops, much attention was paid for self-evaluation gained competences and improvements. Participants had the opportunity to discuss about human rights, refugee crisis and gender equality, to meet representatives from Human Rights Center of Lithuania and to generate ideas how to inspire other youngsters in Europe to stand for themselves. The project was financed under Erasmus+ programme.

 

Project Summary:

The main objectives of the youth exchange were:

– to inspire young people to have interest in their individual rights and to fight for them if they are violated;
– to raise awareness about how people with fewer opportunities integrate into society (as they supposed to have equal rights as everyone else);
– to promote Erasmus+ programme and its goals.

During all project working methods used were non-formal and most activities were based on experiential learning and learning by doing and by sharing experiences with each other.
All activities seeked to improve participants lifelong competences and especially social and civic competence. They  learned more about their own rights, common behavior models and how to fight for themselves and much more non-formal things with:
“Ice-breaking”, team-building, energizers, reflections, research presentations, analysis of behavior models case analysis on refugee crisis and gender equality, Youthpass evaluations, intercultural evenings, study visit, Forum theater, creative workshop, planning initiatives and disseminating project’s idea, painting learning river and finally, receiving Youthpass certificate.

Accommodation:

It was in R Hostel (in the middle of Kaunas city center).
There are 6-bed, 8-bed and 12-bed rooms in the hostel where participants were accommodated.

YouthPass:

Every participant was individually entitled to receive a Youthpass Certificate, which confirms participation and
validates the non-formal learning (NFL) experience of Training course project. Validating the learning experiences of participants is important in itself and the document can be of benefit in terms of the educational or employment future of the participant. Through Youthpass the European Commission ensures the Training course activity is recognized as a non-formal learning experience.
