Summary:
The aim of the “COMICSATION” project is to increase the skills of youth leadersthrough the acquisition of effective, informal, and “youth-friendly” techniquesand methodologies and create a facilitated discussion spree betweenparticipating youth workers to share information, data, best practices, andknowledge about concepts and principles of youth participation and how toinspire and empower young people to become active at the local, regional, and international levels.
The project has several objectives that aim toempower youth workers and young peoplethrough innovative methods and content.
The key goals include enhancing educationalmethods for youth workers using storytellingand comics, producing comics for teen stressmanagement, empowering marginalized ruralyouth, raising awareness about ecologicaland environmental protection, improvingdigital literacy and global participation ,informing about the Erasmus programthrough a comic book.
Structure of the project:
Training Course 1 – Berlin, Germany 14 – 22 of March, 2024
The Training Course is primarily designed to delve into the essential aspects ofcomic book creation, emphasizing the foundational elements of storytelling anddrawing in this unique medium. The course will cover basic drawing techniques,layout design, and the integration of text and images to create impactful andvisually stimulating comic books. This comprehensive approach aims to equiplearners with the skills necessary for successful comic book storytelling.
Homework Stage
The participants will apply learned skills and knowledge at their local levels.
Training Course 2 – Tauchen, Austria 30 of June – 7 of July, 2024
Throughout the Training Course, participants will immerse themselves deeply inthe art of comics drawing and storytelling. This comprehensive exploration willinvolve mastering various techniques and styles in comic art, as well asunderstanding the nuances of crafting engaging stories. Alongside theoreticallearning, participants will actively create their own comic strips or pages,applying the skills and concepts learned. These individual comic creations will bea focal point of the course, culminating in a special exhibition on the final day ofthe TC. This exhibition will not only showcase the participants’ creativity andtalent but also serve as a platform for feedback and appreciation, celebratingthe journey of learning and creation in the realm of comic art.
Participant`s profile required:
This project is open for heads of NGOs, youth workers, trainers, facilitators, andformal educational institutions working in the field of capacity building foreducators and aiming at equipping their staff with new competencies,educators themselves, who are open to professional development andeagerness for education to respond to the issues of nowadays.
1. Еvery group will consist 2 participants, age 18+;
2. Participants are expected to be part of the full duration of the activity;
3. Be aware that this activity will be in English;
4. Participants with fewer opportunities and rural areas will have priority.
5. The training course is open for educators – trainers, teachers, facilitators, youth workers, youth leaders.
Criteria for selection
- Commitment to participate in ALL stages of theproject (both TCs and Homework stage)
- Sincere interest and motivation to share theirwork experience and challenges so as to LEARN collectively
- Clear ideas for follow-up activities atlocal/national and international levels
- Shared expectations and clearly defined learningneeds
- High commitment to follow up activities andnetworking
Venue:
Participants will live and work at Bildungstätte/Seminar- und Gästehaus Holzmarktstr. 12 14467 Potsdam https://www.hochdrei.org/
The participants will be accommodated in multi-bed rooms each with theirown bathroom.
The Wireless internet access will be provided.
There will be breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided during your stay.
Working methods:
All the training will be done through the methods of non-formal education. The activities will be for example brainstorming, plenary discussions, simulations, role plays, team building, energizers, ice breakers and many others. Non formal education we remember you that is voluntary, no hierarchical and all its methods are based on the concept of learning by doing.

Travel Costs:
100% of the participants‘ travel costs will be reimbursed within the valid budget sums calculated according to the official rules of Erasmus+ programme. If a sum exceeds the limit, the excess will be paid by the participants themselves. The reimbursement limit is 275€ per participant from Bulgaria.
Important: In order to obtain reimbursement for the tickets, you need to follow these steps:
1) You need to present ALL THE TICKETS (that includes all the boarding passes), including RETURN TICKETS, which you will send after realization of the project, otherwise you will not be reimbursed.
2) You need to use PUBLIC TRANSPORT e.g. planes, trains, buses, trams or underground.
3) You need to depart from the country where your sending organization is.
4) It is recommended to make scans of tickets before your arrival in case you lose them. The reimbursement will be done only in Euros.
5) You must complete the dissemination activities and send to the organizers evidences of them (pictures, videos, written report, etc.). Could be one for the whole group or individual – the decision is up to each participant and national group.
Financial support:
Project is supported by “Erasmus+” program. Accommodation, meals, program and travel cost (based on distance) are covered from grant. There is a guarantee of 100 BGN in case “The Change is in You”Association buys the tickets, which every participant must send prior the departure, which is just to insure the participation of the person and will be reimbursed after completing all the dissemination activities, the participant is required to conduct after returning to Bulgaria and the reimbursement from the hosting organization to the sending organization is conducted. The guarantee should be via bank transfer, in order to be easily traced and to have a proof that it has been sent and both the the sending NGO and the participant to be secured.
Insurance:
The travel insurance is mandatory. It costs 1 BGN/day and covers all the common injuries during projects up to 5000 Euro. Our organization is not covering insurance, it is individual, but we are going to support you to obtain a proper insurance for the duration of the project. YouthPass:
Every participant is individually entitled to receive a Youthpass Certificate, which confirms participation and validates the non-formal learning (NFL) experience of Training course project. Validating the learning experiences of participants is important in itself and the document can be of benefit in terms of the educational or employment future of the participant. Through Youthpass the European Commission ensures the Training course activity is recognized as a non-formal learning experience.
