“Body work and Gestald Therapy”

International Training Course

It is a KA1 training course about body expression, movement and self-awareness for youth workers so that they can work with body exercises with young people with fewer opportunities.
Participants will enjoy different approaches for body work, such as contact, conscious movement and other disciplines coming from contemporary dance that together with Gestalt therapy will create the framework of the learning process.

The aim of this project is:

Our specific objectives are:
– To create a safe space for exchange, mutual learning, and intercultural interaction among youth workers through artistic approaches within contemporary dance.
– To raise awareness of youth workers about the health benefits of conscious movement, and choreographic theatre.
– To foster youth workers’ creativity and spontaneity so that they find new ways for self-expression.
– To develop youth workers’ knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding the current trends in contemporary dance that may benefit youth work when it comes to deal effectively with young people with fewer opportunities.
– To explore and learn how to create dance or choreographic theatre plays with groups of young people with fewer opportunities.
– To promote participants’ self-awareness about their own professional needs that have connection with them from a perspective of training style and way of facilitating learning processes.
– To provide participants with the necessary tools to effectively facilitate and cope with emotions arising in conflicts within a group.
– To foster the networking of participants’ organizations for the development of future projects together with Erasmus+ Programme.

Intercultural night:

We usually dedicate two nights to the intercultural evening presentation.
What we expect from you to present in these nights are: local or national dances, local music, games, little sweets, drinks, pictures, etc. from your countries.
Every country will prepare a short presentation of their culture, using all kinds of methods. It’s preferred a short and FUNNY presentation, such as showing pictures and commenting it, quiz, short video (either already existing or made by you), etc. (YES – use your creativity!). For the intercultural night, we ask you to prepare in advance a brief performance (singing, your traditional music, popular dances) to present your group (typical costumes are really welcomed!).
The main idea of this presentation is: What is important for a stranger to know about my country?
Any kind of presentation is granted, better not to do a power-point presentation to avoid yawning.
The Intercultural night is the “most wanted event” on the beginning of the youth exchange. It is a sort of traditional night opened to all participant audience made up of our group leaders, youth workers, facilitators, participants to the exchange. All National groups are asked to perform briefly (10 for your NGO and country/city not more, and 10 min for traditional dances and music) in order to introduce their self. Certainly, we need your enthusiasm and energy!!
For the Intercultural evening a Swedish buffet (cold buffet) will be organized. Here every country will bring traditional food dishes. The food that will be brought must be eatable without any processing (boiling, frying, etc). The dishes must also be accompanied by a brief description (their origin and ingredients, the way they are eaten…)

Participant`s profile required:

  • Group size: 2 young people age 18+.
  • English level ( at least Medium level speaking and writing);
  • Committed to contribute to the follow up of the project;
  • Be interested in developing competences and implement follow-up initiatives;

We would like to give you some information about the venue we will be living and working together.
The place we will be is called CASA DEL TRIGO (Wheat House), it is a very special place located in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz, a very old and monumental town in the Region of Murcia.
CASA DEL TRIGO is located 7 Km far from the town. It is in a green rural area called La Encarnación. The house is big and it is our brand new training center.
The house is not just 1 house, it is divided in three houses, and one is for about 10 people as well as for the kitchen staff that is living there. It has all you may need including a living room for spare and social moments and Internet connection. Then there’s also the main house, with two floors for about 6-7 people each. Beds are bunk type, so, 3 or 2 bunks in each room. Rooms are really big and comfortable.
No need to bring your bedding or sleeping bag, BUT PLEASE BRING YOUR TOWELS.
Working room will be also in the main house. In each floor there’s a bathroom with 2-3 showers and 1 WC. For us this house, which we created 3 years ago, is the result of an extraordinary amount of energy and passion in order to create a place for inspiration, learning, discovery and selfawareness. Because we believe in social change and we are convinced that this world will not change if we ourselves, as individuals don’t change, we promote certain habits and behaviour in our/your CASA DEL TRIGO. For instance:
1. We would ask you to keep silence after midnight and to socialize or play games in the second house where a living room is foreseen for you spare moments.
2. We would ask you to wash ecologically your dish, glass, spoon, fork and knife after each meal and leave it ready for the next meal. For that, every day we will have different teams in charge of the main washing after lunch and dinner.
Another very important issue concerning your travel to Murcia and your participation in this course is that you bring all your TICKETS, INVOICES & BOARDING PASSES to be able to reimburse those costs. Thanks in advance to everybody for your understanding and collaboration.
