This substantialization of the other makes it possible to fold on the person a particularity if not to understand it like the other of the other; there would be among the others, more others, making them carriers of a specific anthropological difference. In Article 1 of Human Rights, “all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights,” we find that part of the population is in fact discriminated against. Take, for example, the case of people with reduced mobility or a person with disabilities, is often located in neighboring places, kept away from our ordinary activities in social spaces as well as outside society. With the best reasons in the world (since it is for their good), it has been a long time to “put these so-called different people in specialized places under the responsibility of specialists”! In our minds, spontaneously, we will say that a person is disabled, we will assign a label, referring implicitly to a standard, in the statistical sense, which reflects the average capacity of individuals in our society. Normally, we see. Normally, we walk, we hear … But normalcy in common sense is also good health. So, we tend to consider that if being disabled is abnormal, it is also being in poor health. In our mind, in our culture, in our social system, the association: “disabled so fragile”, or “disabled therefore dangerous”, easily leads to the exclusion of disabled people, under the pretext of security. As we can see, the world of work today is inhabited by a concern for excellence, the flip side of which is the amalgam that, in the minds of many recruiters, associates people with disabilities to non-productivity. This confusion produces an unfair social situation, discriminatory, and leads to the minimisation of the productive potential of the person with a disability, thus placing him / her in a situation of disability.

Thus, our Association Femmes Debout (FD) fights against the trivialisation of this discrimination, which affects mainly women. This training project will bring together young leaders and youth workers around the issue of the fight against discrimination around people with disabilities. It will also be a moment of information on this issue for a better awareness of the discrimination against these people whether at the societal level or in the professional world.

Activities will be designed to be easily transferable to others. We will work to create information tools that can be used by associations and youth workers.

This project will bring together 21 participants mainly youth workers, youth leaders or association leaders. The training will take place from 16 to 24 July 2018 in PARIS.

Participant`s profile required:

The training course is open for youth leaders, project managers and voluntary and professional youth workers, working directly with project management and capable of making decisions about partnership. They must have basic knowledge about Erasmus +.
From Bulgaria, in the seminar will take part 3 participants. They should be at least 18 years old, but there is no upper age limit. Be aware that this activity will be in English.
Participants are expected to be part of the full duration of the seminar.

Venue:

The training course will take place in Paris. Further information about the venue will be shared with the selected participants.

Working methods:

All the training will be done through the methods of non-formal education. The activities will be for example brain storming’s, plenary discussions, simulations, role plays, team building, energizers, ice breakers and many others. Non formal education we remember you that is voluntary, no hierarchical and all its methods are based on the concept of learning by doing.

What to bring with me:

we will have an intercultural evening, so bring your national food and drink.

bring your national flag, magazines, postcards what will help you to introduce your country.

if you bring your laptop will be easier for working, but is not mandatory.

and your good mood. For the intercultural night, we ask you to prepare in advance a brief performance (singing, your traditional music, popular dances) to present your group (typical costumes are really welcomed!).
The main idea of this presentation is: What is important for a stranger to know about my country?
Any kind of presentation is granted, better not to do a power-point presentation to avoid yawning.
The Intercultural night is the “most wanted event” on the beginning of the youth exchange.
