“Stop the hate! Be mate!”

 

Training course “Stop hate, be mate” took place in Poland from 21 – 29 October, 2015. The project brought together youth workers and youth leaders from Poland, Greece, Denmark, Estonia, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Portugal, Latvia and Bulgaria. The training course was based on Non-Formal Education Methodology. We developed participants’ skills of creativity, critical and analytical thinking, tolerance and self awareness by various workshops and activities.

The project aims were to equip youth workers and youth leaders with skills and competences in understanding the causes of hate speech and get to know creative tools to work with young people in their communities for overcoming the hatred.

The objectives of the training course were as follows:

-To understand the concept of hate speech and find out its main causes;
-To promote the participants critical and creative thinking;
-To equip youth workers with tools to tackle hate speech in their communities;
-To raise awareness on hate speech online and its threats to minorities rights through the method of campaign;
-To create strong network of youth workers and foster the implementation of new projects in European level.
